Here we take a look at D’Aquisto Acoustic Strings and in particular the D’Aquisto Phosphor Bronze Masters.
Here is what D’Aquisto has to say about these strings:
James L. D’Aquisto was arguably the greatest guitar maker of the 20th Century. His instruments are celebrated around the world and are among the most expensive archtop guitars one can buy, if one can be found. Most who are lucky enough to own a D’Aquisto gutiar rarely give it up. In the early 1990s, D’Aquisto teamed up with businessman and guitar afficionado Theodore Krause to form D’Aquisto Strings. James had for years suffered through trying to find strings worthy of his gutiars and when that proved impossible, he knew he had to make his own. D’Aquisto was involved from the very beginning, making sure that every step of the manufacturing process met his exacting standards. The result was sets of strings he was proud to put on his magnificent instruments. Sadly, James L. D’Aquisto passed away in 1995, but at D’Aquisto Strings, Inc., the very same attention to detail and quality is adhered to with every string we produced, just as James demanded.
D’Aquisto Strings are manufactured in our own factory by our own machines. What does this mean? It means that we not only wind our own strings, we also build the machinery on which the strings are wound. Our machinery is fully automated and state-of-the-art so that each string is made exactly the same every time. The Phosphor Bronze Bronze Masters and 80/20 Brass Brass Masters acoustic guitar strings by D’Aquisto offer exceptional sound combined with long-lasting playability. As with all our other strings, only the finest material is used and all are made in the USA. Our acoustic guitar strings are available in gauges from .010 to .013 and several 12-string sets are also offered.
Here’s what we had to say:
These strings are little more rare – a little more difficult to find. But they are worth it. A lot of acoustic guitar players swear by these strings.
They do have a very nice tone, not too bright. They feel good under your fingers.
No problems with durability. They stayed tuned, and no problems with breakage.
For less than 5 bucks, they are a great deal.
